JumpstART
JumpstART is a program of Ask for More Arts that promotes innovative teaching and learning in the AFMA network of elementary schools. In partnership with the rich resources of the local cultural community, JumpstART is breathing new life and energy into our elementary schools. Classroom teachers and teaching artists collaborate to provide deep levels of arts integrated learning in the classroom and in the community.
Imagine hundreds of children in 24 schools throughout Jackson experiencing art as a tool for learning reading, writing, social studies, science, or math. Imagine those students working side by side with both their teacher and an artist. Imagine their excitement at the completion of a mural, or a story, or a song, or a photographic exhibit. Imagine how learning takes on a whole new meaning for them.
That's JumpstART.
